“Today, every company is a software company. From global retailers to large financial institutions, organizations around the world rely heavily on software to drive change and increase the speed of transactions,” said Matthew McCullough, GitHub’s Director of Field Services. “We see many opportunities for Wall Street to adopt open source principles to build better software and thus remain fiercely competitive.”
GitHub Enterprise is a flexible, secure developer platform that allows companies to deploy and manage in their own, secure environment. Version 2.8 of GitHub Enterprise was recently released to include code review, project management, Jupyter notebook rendering, and more. Since launching in 2011, the service has seen significant growth, driven by large businesses revamping older software development practices.
DevOps Wall Street kicks off a series of larger events in select cities to highlight agile culture shift within the GitHub enterprise ecosystem. The next event will be in the Washington, D.C. area, focusing on the highly regulated government environment, with the Silicon Valley area to follow.
“We think DevOps Wall Street will strike a chord with decision-makers in banks and large-scale enterprises that need the latest thinking and insight on DevOps and the GitHub Enterprise Ecosystem,” said Patrick Sheridan, Co-founder and Managing Director of Modus Create, which was named on the Inc. 5000 List for the past two years as one of the fastest growing software developers in the U.S., and has conducted hundreds of meetups on key software topics across the globe, claiming nearly 10,000 meetup followers. “Modus Create knows the power of in-person group discussions to hone in on new software trends, network and solicit ideas and feedback and we are excited to kick off this series in New York.”
