Reston, Virginia, Tuesday, September 11, 2012 – Product development and training firm, Modus Create, Inc., is pleased to announce the opening of its new 2,600 sq. ft. office at Sunrise Technology Park in Reston, VA. “The last year has been amazing for us, our revenue and team size have tripled and we continue to build a presence in key US and international markets,” says Patrick Sheridan, CEO of Modus. “With key client accounts on both coasts and US based employees now in New York, California, Boston, and Colorado, a larger Reston office will help as we expand into mobile government services.”
Modus Create is also pleased to announce the addition of Richard Bullington-McGuire as Principal and COO. A former colleague of Sheridan’s, Richard was the Founder and Managing Partner of PKR Internet, which he sold in 2008. “Richard is a perfect fit for Modus,” comments Sheridan, “Modus is a tightly knit global team that can operationalize talent anywhere in the world, and Richard’s deep experience with distributed agile and emerging technology will pay huge dividends during this period of dynamic growth.”
With international staff in Mexico City, Croatia, and Romania, Modus continues to attract global thought leaders and published authors in HTML5 and Hybrid mobile app development communities. “With Modus Mexico team member Crysfel Villa’s book ‘Learning Ext JS 4’ due out this month and CTO Jay Garcia and Grgur’s books ‘Sencha Touch, In Action’ and ‘Ext JS 4.x, In Action’ due out this October, we continue to play a large role in helping developers lessen the learning curve in developing enterprise apps with HTML 5,” says Bullington-McGuire.
Modus is also pleased to announce the promotion of Grgur Grisogono to Principal and Director of Modus Europe. “Grgur is a huge asset to the Modus team. His work organizing SourceDevCon and his visibility in the European open source community will no doubt be a driving factor in the growth of Modus Europe as we continue to provide app development and on site training to global firms such as F-Secure, for whom we’ve performed trainings in Bordeaux, France and Malaysia,” said Jay Garcia, CTO of Modus.
Modus Create’s continued growth is due to work with recognized brands, including McAfee, Time, Inc., Fortune Magazine, Sports Illustrated, The Atlantic Media Company, PBS, Intuit, Ogilvy, NBC/Universal, and others. “We’re a very big small company,” jokes Sheridan, “with deep consumer facing and enterprise app experience. We’re increasingly asked to work on high visibility projects that help large firms pivot to avoid disruption caused by new and emerging technology,” said Sheridan.
Modus Create was recognized as a finalist in the NVTC “Hot Ticket Awards” for “Hottest Bootstrap” this past June and CEO Pat Sheridan has recently been nominated as a CIT GAP50 finalist. “We’re truly flattered to be recognized by our peers for our team’s success. Modus is redefining what it means to be a best of breed software product development firm.” says Sheridan.
Sheridan will be moderating a panel on digital media and publishing at the upcoming MoDevTablet conference this week at the Artisphere in Arlington, and Modus Create lead designer Dave Ackerman will be presenting a case study on Responsive Design work done for PBS at the DC MobileUXCamp September 15th.
